Food Photography

Food Photography

Hey folks. How are we all today? Are you enjoying the theatre that is the US Election. It is certainly a form of entertainment in its own right, would you not agree (as will Trump’s Presidency no doubt prove to be if he goes on to win, which is looking highly likely at the moment). Anyway, I am completely off topic as I intend to focus on the arts side of the blog today rather than the entertainments. I was cooking for the family this weekend and I was following a recipe from one of my Jamie Oliver cookbooks. The photographs in all of his recipe books are second to none and are clearly shot by a specialist food photographer. Professional food photography has become more and more important to and in demand by the food, catering and hospitality industry over the last 15 years. So much so that it has become art form in its own right. Many photographers make a nice living from shooting nothing other than contemporary images of gourmet dishes for top chefs. restaurants, hotels, caterers and recipe book publishers. And they really are stunning images to view. They certainly leave my mouth watering, which I guess is the whole point, so job done. So if photography is your thing you could do worse than to knock up a few dishes of your own and get some practise in. It could well be a nice little moneymaker for you. Be sure to drop me a line and let me know how you get on should you give it a try. I would love to know and share it on the blog.

Anyway folks, that is all from me today. Speak soon.
