Red Hot Chili Peppers discography

Hey everyone, and welcome back to my arts and entertainment blog.

Today whilst I was browsing through various gig ticket selling sites I saw the exciting news that one of my all time favourite bands was coming to Dublin on the 20th to the 21st of December.  I straight away grabbed some of my Red Hot Chili Peppers albums I had recently bought off this great second hand classified website, you can find them here:http://www.for-sale.ie/red-hot-chilli-peppers .

Who are the Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, otherwise known as ‘The Chili Peppers’ or ‘RHCP’, were formed in 1983 in Los Angeles.  They are one of the best selling bands of all time, having sold over 80 million records worldwide.  They have won 6 Grammy Awards, and have been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, and are the most successful alt-rock band in radio history.  They hold the record for most number one singles, 13, most top ten songs, 25, and most cumulative weeks at number one, 85, on the Bilbard Alternatie Songs chart.  They have been in the Rock and Roll hall of fame since 2012.  2 of the members of the band have been around since the band was formed (33 years ago), Anthony Kiedis who is the lead vocalist and Flea (Michael Balzary) who plays the bass, trumpet, piano, harmonica and does some of the backing vocals.   Chad Smith the drummer and percussion player joined the band is 1988 (28 years ago) and since 2009 Josh Klinghoffer has been playing guitar, keyboards, bass and does some backing vocals for the band.

One Hot Minute

One hot

‘One Hot Minute’ was released 4 years later and received similar, only a wee bit less, success worldwide.  2 number ones for the album worldwide, and it reached between 1 and 6 across all the countries it launched in.  Again they released 5 songs from this album ‘Warped’, ‘My Friends’, ‘Aeroplane’, ‘Shallow be thy Game’ and ‘Coffee Shop’.

Californication

Crazy picture

Again a little bit of a water for Red Hot Chili Pepper fans, as ‘Californication’ wasn’t released until just under 4 years later, in the June of 1999.Again the album reached number 1 in 2 countries across the world, and reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 in the US.  The album went Platinum in 7 different countries, including 6 times over in the US, and 8 times over in New Zealand, and Gold in 3 different countries.  From ‘Californication’ we got 4 of some of my favourite Chili Pepper songs, ‘Scar Tissue’, ‘Around the World’, ‘Otherside’ and ‘Californication’.

Unfortunately I’ve run out of time here folks, you see I can talk about the Chili Peppers until I’m blue in the face, so next time I’m back we can look at the next 4 Red Hot Chili Pepper albums, including the newest one released this year, The Getaway.  If you’d like to look further into the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or to check if they have any gigs coming up in your area you should check out their website;http://redhotchilipeppers.com/.   I hope to see some of you at the Red Hot Chili Pepper gig in December.
